Francesco Totti was born 27 September 1976 in Rome. He is an Italian World Cup-winning soccer player who is the present captain of Italian Serie A club Roma. He always takes a role in the field as a striker or an attacking midfielder, although he is best known for playing as a second striker.
He has expended his whole career at Roma, is the number-one goalscorer and the most capped player in the club’s record. He is regarded as the Roma’s greatest player of all time.
Totti has begun his soccer journey with the youth side of Lodigiani. Afterward in 1989 he became a member the youth side of Roma. In 1992 he made it to the senior time of Roma when he was at the age of 16.
For the Italian team, Totti’s real explosion came as long as Euro 2000 in the Netherlands and Belgium when he played an important part in two games: First the one in opposition to the Netherlands, where he beat the Dutch goalkeeper with a characteristic Panenka style penalty during the shootout. Afterward, as long as the final of that competition in opposition to France, he launched teammate Delvecchio to make the only Italian goal of that game.
In 1999he won the Serie A young football player of the year award. As long as 2000/2001 season team was built around Totti’ and he assisted them to win Serie A. He assisted Roma to win Italian super cup in 2001. Totti won the Serie A footballer of the year award in 2000 as well as 2003.
He won the Italian footballer of the year award in 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2004 in addition to 2007. He was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004.Totti is well-known for his chipping skill called in Italian il cucchiaio “spoon”. He has made a lot of beautiful goals using this technique.
